Posted this on the yahoogroup, if'n you're not there...
After booking my flight, I just checked the Southwest site for hotels
and these are the cheapest ones that came up. There are closer ones
but they are more expensive (see last one.) I don't know anything
about any of these, they are just a point to start research.
Tripadvisor is a good place to go.
We stayed at a place two blocks from Pike's Market last year for
Butter tour and I think it was a reasonable rate. I will see if I can
find that info.
I put in the addy of the venue for this.
If anyone has rec's that would be great. Thanks, Greg.

I am still waiting to hear from another place that sleeps 8 and is on the water. ( www.vrbo.com/75509 )

Re: Seattle hotels
Fri, January 23, 2009 - 9:29 PMHey ya all I was going to put something up here about this so I might as well do it now, I was going to talk with the hotel next week and see about a deal so this is a bit premature, next week there might be a group rate type of deal worked out, but till then here goes.
Those hotels listed above are nice but the miles listed with them don't match the distance to the venue. There are no hotels/motels near the venue. For Halloween the band and most of the traveling fans stayed at The Quality Inn, 1850 Maple Valley HWY, Renton, WA
The reason this hotel was chosen is that both downtown Seattle and Renton are about 7 miles from the venue(in opposite directions), to get to Seattle the driving could be confusing if you are not familiar with the area whereas Renton you go out the door of the theater which is on Rainier Ave and drive south on Rainier Ave and it turns into Maple Valley HWY then your home, no odd turns, real highways or downtown to deal with. Never know what condition you could be leaving that theater in so we chose ease. And the next day if you want to get into Seattle proper it's not that bad.
If anyone is thinking of staying there you might want to wait till next week and I'll post something if I can get everyone cheaper rooms
Can't wait to see ya all! -
