The first Monsoon in almost 5 months! A new album in the can, surely some new tunes to be unveiled - a weekend of excitement for sure. Hopefully someone will wake up early enough tomorrow to post the setlist and/or a review.

Is 1983 a new Jimi cover? Have they done that before?

I'm eying the archive gods over here.

They played it with Heath singing during the latter half of 2003. Then they brought it back early in 2005 with Bo on vocals & played it a few times on that year's spring tour. As far as I can tell, its most recent performance was the Houston Rhythm Room show in Apr 2005:

NM rocked it!! Esp on Sat night. Wow, they are back! Scott Law & Tony Furtado opened and sat in on Sat. They were awesome too.
Loved the new songs and the venue was super sweet too. Leo had decorated it in a "living room" theme with couches, sofas & lots of plants. Serendipitously (I think that Leo didn't know..) Scott's new album is called Living Room too.

First NM show for me in about a year.
First set on Friday was so-so. Second set picked up a bit. RattleSnake Ride right between the eyes.
Saturday first set was amazing. Jeff's new song "For One Night" is perhaps his greatest song to date. Smacks of Garcia influence....thank you Cutlers...Second set Saturday had us all talking about the New Monsoon Back Pocket Boys....my favorite new boy band. Kudos Sean and Marshall, my new airport stalkie. White Sky Rain had me in tears...I'm a big baby.

        Highcream
        you scream,
        we all melt
        on highscream!

        What a party.

late night fun back at the hotel til Bo brought Kate Struby home at 8am.
breakfast with Bo, Jeff, Phil, Dani, Kate and Don....Priceless
girls day with Dani, Jean and Kate....priceless
Dinner with Marshall, Jeff, Dani, Kate, and Jean....really priceless
thanks to new friends for 419 late night suites....sweet and see you in richmond

almost makes me wanna go to the independent.....FOR ONE NIGHT!!!!!!!
